Silkstone Playgroup: Today with the sun shining, we joined together for the last playgroup before the holidays. Shapes were the focus today, with this evident in the varies experinces. A sensory tray with varies shapes and textures, shape sponge painting, pencils to draw what we thought was made of shapes. We built our gross motor skills as we kicked round soccer balls, and so much more. Miss Sara was pleased to welcome back a returning playgroup family after sometime away and saddened to learn that it was our final playgroup with one of our families. We wish them all the happiness in their new journey. Thank you all for joining us today and we hope you all enjoy your holidays. We can not wait to see you all next term. We will keep you posted on our return date. ... See MoreSee Less
HINTERLAND: on Tuesday we hosted our first Intergenerational Visit with the Residents from Anglicare Southern Queensland. It coincided with B Kinder Day. Our Conquerors made kindness cards to give to their new friends. This day was set up by the Flyhighbillie trading as b kinder foundation to spreading kindness and empathy in memory of Billie a lovely and talented young girl. Thank you to Liz and the team for your visit. We look forward to these being a regular part of our program. Well done Miss Leanne and team for living our COMMUNITY value. 🌻The world could use a little more kindness, so the purpose of b kinder day is to discuss kindness, to empower children and enable people to see that they each have the capacity to make a difference.🌻We would like all schools, organisations, businesses and communities to take part in b kinder day, an annual day on 22nd June celebrated worldwide, that encourages thoughtfulness and empathy. HINTERLAND PLAYGROUP: what a glorious last playgroup we had. The sun was shining. It was World Giraffe Day 🦒so Miss Jojo read Giraffes Can’t Dance. Today I really noticed how the children had grown and developed over the term. I saw pedaling🚴🏻, swinging😁, our babies are climbing, Miss Evie used her big girl voice and told me every fruit she wanted for morning tea (I forgot to tell you Mum!!) we even had mummies helping us shoot high high basketball hoops. One of the highlights was the yoga zone where the children spontaneously started completing poses to the music. See the cards below to have a go at home. (Make sure you send us photos!). Have a lovely break. Stay tuned on our page for our next event. X Lucy ... See MoreSee Less
