Do I get any fee subsidies for Child Care?

The best idea is to phone the Family Assistance Office 136150 to find out your eligibility. They are open until 8pm at night, so often 7:45pm is a great time to call. The current subsidies are Child Care Benefit (means tested), Child Care Rebate (for working parents) and Kindergarten Funding (for the year before school).

Also, make sure your child’s immunisation schedule is current; you won’t be able to receive benefits if it isn’t.

What are the Childcare fees?

Each centre’s fees are different. It is best to contact your individual centre where they can provide you a quote based on your subsidies. To ensure you get the maximum rebate possible, we have an all inclusive fee for our school care programs. Our excursions and after school dance and sports activities are included in the daily rate. As well as breakfast, afternoon tea and morning tea in school holidays. Our Long Day Care and Kindergarten fees include all meals, nappies and activities such as music and dance or gross motor program (these vary from centre to centre).

What are your operating hours?

All our services are closed on Public Holidays.

How can I help my child settle in?

We recommend you bring your child for a visit and a play to your chosen Amaze Childcare Centre.

We have an open door policy, so you are welcome to come back as many times as you need prior to starting care. Our Long Day Care centres have additional activities, such as Playgroup and a Multisports Programme which your child is welcome to join in with also.

Ask your Director for more details. When leaving your child on the first morning, it is best to say a quick good-bye and a give a kiss then head off on your day. Lingering makes your child feel you are not confident leaving them with their teachers.

Fake it until you make it! Your Director will call you and let you know how your child is travelling and you are most welcome to call any time.

What do I need to bring to Amaze?

Long Day Care and Kindergarten – your Amaze hat and you are welcome to wear your Amaze t-shirt too if you like, drink bottle, bedding (we suggest a fitted cot sheet and a cover for cooler weather), for children who have bottles, please bring in a tin of formula with your child’s name on it and bottles with pre-measured water.

What if my child isn’t toilet trained?

Nappies are supplied at our Long Day Care Centres. When your child is ready to be toilet trained, we will have a discussion with you about how we will all facilitate this process. We suggest lots of undies and changes of clothes. Please be aware that we do not have nappy change facilities in our older age groups, children who have not begun toilet training will need to remain in the under 3 years rooms with nappy change facilities. Please feel free to talk to us about any developmental issue or special needs your child may have, so we can find a solution.

What extra activities can my child do at Amaze?

All centres vary and it is advisable to have a chat with your Director about what is currently on offer and if there is a cost. Most of our activities are included in our daily fees. Some examples of Long Day Care activities are: Music and Dance, Gross Motor Program, Swimming, Japanese and Multisports. Ask your Director for a programme.

Do you take children with special needs?

Yes. We have a number of children differing special needs. We have a strong culture of supporting children with special needs at all of our centres. We have links with several support agencies. As with all children, we do understand that not every environment suits every child. We encourage you and your child to come and spend time with us so we can ensure we provide the very best experience possible for them.
